Anaesthesia for eye surgery

Dr Williams completed his medical degree at the University of Sydney before undertaking specialist training in anaesthesia in Australia and the United Kingdom. He completed his anaesthetic training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and was awarded Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) in 2013. He also holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Ultrasound.

Dr Williams has a particular interest and extensive experience in ophthalmic anaesthesia and regional anaesthesia. He developed and convened the Ophthalmic Regional Anaesthesia Cadaveric Workshop in Sydney and has lectured and taught ophthalmic anaesthesia at national and international scientific meetings, including ANZCA and Australian Society of Anaesthetists meetings.

He has broad experience across anaesthesia and currently practises at a number of public and private hospitals in Sydney, including Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and North Shore Private Hospital. His clinical interests also include ultrasound-guided regional anaesthesia and perioperative assessment and management.

Dr Williams is a Fellow of ANZCA and is committed to providing safe, comfortable and individualised anaesthetic care for patients undergoing eye surgery.
