Dr Vivek CHOWDHURY

Dr Chowdhury graduated in Medicine from the University of Sydney with First Class Honours. He was later awarded a PhD from the University of New South Wales for his groundbreaking research into a Bionic Eye for blind patients, and was also a visiting fellow at Harvard Medical School.

He completed his ophthalmology training at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney and the Sydney Children's Hospital, where he was awarded the prestigious Filipic Greer Medal. Following this, he undertook further sub-specialty training in advanced cataract and corneal surgery at the world-renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital in London.

Dr Chowdhury is a highly experienced surgeon who continues to undertake cutting-edge research in corneal, cataract and retinal disease. He has published numerous papers in international journals and received several prominent research grants.

Dedicated to education, Dr Chowdhury is a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Sydney Medical School and was previously an Examiner for the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO), where he helped train and assess the next generation of eye surgeons.
